"Having bought these balls i would say for the money they are a good all round ball , they have good distance of the tee and they dont feel like a brick when you hit them,also i would say unlike pro v1 where you can spin a ball a lot these balls have more of a tendancy to stop dead ,which is not a bad thing and they cost half the money of pro v1 to."

Good spin, cover scuffs off badly

"These are a mid-range Callaway ball, sitting between the cheapish Warbird and the top end Tour i and iX - fewer pieces and harder materials with the premise that they still give reasonable feel and spin.
Overall, this ball does deliver - it does feel reasonably soft, does spin well off my wedge shots and has good distance.
Cons? It isn't as soft as an iX, it doesn't spin like an iX and it scuffs badly - playing a wedge will result in a bounce and stop, however the ball will be covered in shavings - these require a bit of rubbing with a tee or the like to get the ball flat again. Ball still works fine hole after hole, after they look tatty very quickly.
Overall I use these as a general purpose ball - I still play a top-end ball (alternating between Tour i and TaylorMade TP red at the moment) for competitions though."

Affordable soft

"Looking for an affordable soft ball I've tried several brands in the mid range but found to have a preference for the Callaway Hot Bite. Sure the cover shows wear after hitting down on it with your spin milled wedge. But this goes for the ProV1 and any other high range ball.
Have been using them for quite some time now and have not yet succeeded in 'tearing off a cover' how exiting that may sound.
Definitely worth to give a try."

Soft Ball for Good Price

"Okay so the ball does scuff up but tell me a premium soft ball that doesn't?? This time of year unless your course has a sprinkler system for the greens most greens are rock hard and spin is hard to come by. I have noticed that this ball seems to give me high bounce on landing and then tries to check up. The soft cover does scuff and you'll notice bits sticking into the grooves of your club after impact. After 18 holes the ball was only fit for practice. It comes into it's own on short chips and pitches offering good control even though our greens are like concrete. All in all a ball that gives reasonably good control for a very competitive price."

"To be fair this ball does offer alot of spin, but compared with tour balls such as the pro v1 and callaway ix tour, this ball cuts up far to quickly. As soon as you it a descent shot the ball shreds.But with the pro v1 that will last a round before serious wear shows.couldnt judge this balls distance properly because they were always cut up when i went to use one off the tee! Far to soft avoid this ball!"

"This ball is a very good ball, although people are saying that the layer is soft and tears away easily, if you buy any top of the range ball for example titliest, bridgestone, nike, and other callaway balls, when you hit them because they are so soft they stick to the club face and thats how you get the spin. These callaway balls have a great ball flight and generate alot of spin around the greens, i am a very strong short game player and rely on spin around the green, this ball has improved my score and made it consistant. feel good off the driver and also irons and wedges, overall this is a good ball and they are great value, although the cover tears away easily you can buy more of these than you can buy a box of pro-v's and they will last around the same amount of time."

Good allround ball

"This is an excellent ball for all round performance without being expensive. It flys off the tee amd has good feel around the green with plenty of spin, it is a dream to put with. The cover is a bit on the soft side and marks up fairly quickly but if this is the price to pay for good scoring rounds i will pay. Since starting to use this ball I have played 6 rounds and matched or beaten my handicap on all occasions."

"Would'nt recommend this callaway ball as the cover is fair to soft, I found particularly with 7 8 9 and wedges that the cover started to chip and peel on the ball and that after a few holes I had to change ball,. I personally find this not to be callaways greatest ball never had trouble with there hx hot or 56's."
